Does this make you hungry?!! I LOVE cupcakes – red velvet cupcakes with buttercream icing….yellow cupcakes with chocolate icing….chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing……yummm. It makes me hungry! Did I already say that? ha!
We made this card Sunday afternoon in card class.
Stamps: Solid Stripes; Birthday and Candle Crazy Builder Wheels inked from Dusty Durango ink pad;
Cardstock: So Saffron, Dusty Durango, and Soft Suede
Ink: Dusty Durango and Versamark (used with the Solid Stripes stamp on the base of the cupcake)
Ribbon: Soft Suede
Cool Tools: Wheel guide (so I could get those diagonal lines close to the same angle!); 1/4" circle punch; Big Shot; Big Bold Cupcakes sizzlet; Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions embossing folder; and a gold brad.
When we ran the sizzlet through the Big Shot that made the flower, the small circle in the center wanted to punch out – and we didn't want it to do that. In the future, I will punch a 1/4" circle out of the So Saffron cardstock and put over that hole, then put the brad through it, and that will be much easier than trying to keep the small center of the flower from punching out.
Dawn Olchefske featured a card like this on her website and I was inspired. I am so glad there are many talented stampers out there that share their ideas!
Thanks for stopping by. Happy stamping!
