Check out the new set Bring On the Cake in the Mini Occasions catty. It's so versatile!
My grandson Colson turns 3 tomorrow…It's such an exciting time! This card is for him. I cased this card from the one in the new mini. Hope you enjoy!
Stamp Sets: Bring On the Cake (#121899 wooden; #121958 clear); Create a Cupcake (#121915 wooden; #121982 clear)
Paper: Marina Mist (#119682), Whisper White (#100730), Daffodil Delight (#119683), Peach Parfait (#119794), Pear Pizzazz (#119793), Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack Brights (#117155)
Ink: Marina Mist (#119668), Daffodil Delight (#119667), Peach Parfait (#119783), Pear Pizzazz (#119784), Real Red (#103133), Black Staz-on (#101406)
Cool Tools: Scallop Edge Border Punch (#119882), Aqua Painter (#103954)
The pedestal is made sort of free hand. I punched out the top of 2" x1-3/8" Oval Extra Large Punch (#119859) and then cut a thin strip of cardstock. I did use Stampin Dimensionals (#104430) to pop up both the horizontal pieces. I love a 3-dimensional look on cards!
On the inside of the card I used the sentiment "bring on the cake" and also used markers to ink up the cake with candles on the pedestal (but I didn't ink up the "Happy Birthday" part). That's a great thing about using markers on your stamps – you get multiple colors and you can ink up only the part you want.
Also, it's my opinion there should be no naked envelopes – That's what I tell the ladies when we stamp! I inked up that same birthday cake with candles on the pedestal and stamped it on the envelope. Stamping on your envelopes gives such a nice finished look to your projects.
I have hostess club this Saturday and next Saturday. If you are in the Dallas/Mesquite/Garland area and want to learn more techniques and have fun stamping, email me at suzanne@taylormadestamping.com and I'll give you directions to our club meeting.
You can order all the supplies you need for this card (and lots more) from my Online Store. Check out the link in the top right panel of my blog.
I hope something you see here inspires you to stamp. Thanks for stopping by!
