Have you seen this fabulous technique before? I saw our friend Kylie do this on a facebook live recently and knew I had to try it. I see such amazing possibilities!
I put Versamark all over the black layer and then sprinkled white embossing powder over it. Sprinkle it like you would salt on something. Then heat emboss. It is the most beautiful thing you’ve seen! It’s gorgeous, but what are you going to do with that layer???
Now for the rest of the card.
Black cardstock base cut 5-1/2 x 8-1/2, scored at 4-1/4.
Smoky Slate cardstock layer cut 4 x 5-1/4.
Black cardstock layer that has the beautiful embossed night sky technique cut 3-7/8 x 5-1/8.
Use the fabulous Rectangle Stitched Dies for the next 2 layers. Use #3 and #4 from the largest. Use the #3 from the largest die for a smoky slate cardstock layer. Use the #4 for a whisper white cardstock layer.
Stamp the beautiful flower in Momento black ink from Tasteful Touches stamp set on the whisper white layer. Then take your sponge dauber and swirl gently Merry Merlot in the centers of the flowers. Take a scrap of black cardstock and stamp the sentiment “smile” from the Lovely You stamp set in versamark and then heat emboss with white embossing powder. I used the smallest rectangular die to cut this out, but it’s still too long. So….I took the die and cut it again to make it the size I wanted.
For the inside, I added a layer of whisper white 4 x 5-1/4 and stamped the flower in the lower left corner and upper right corner and used the sponge dauber again with the Merry Merlot ink. It’s so pretty.
I know I’m gushing about this card, but it is absolutely beautiful. Now – you tell me. Is this a Wow card or HOLY COW card? I’ll send one of these cards to someone who comments with your thoughts by Monday, August 10, 2020. Would you like to get this in the mail?
