Someone asked me recently why I was a Stampin Up demonstrator. My first response was because I love to stamp! As I thought about it, it really goes deeper than that. Please indulge me a little…
As a little girl, I always loved to color and I loved colors. As I got older, it was school supplies. Ok – I know that sounds silly, but I loved paper, pencils, pens, markers, and colors…….there's always a place for colors. As I got older still, I loved going to the office supply store. Oh my goodness – there were beautiful colored post it notes and a bigger variety of different colored pens and markers and paper!
After a few years, I got caught up in the scrapbooking frenzy. Oh my goodness at all the fun things – papers, markers, stickers, punches! Most of all – how incredible to put my pictures in albums and journal and see success. (Now don't get too excited, there are still 25 years of pictures in big plastic tubs at my house waiting to be scrapbooked…..but I'll get to that.)
A few years later a friend introduced me to Stampin Up! More markers, cardstock and designer papers that all coordinated with the buttons and ink pads and ribbons. I was completely in love! I began to acquire all those things…….and more. (Note – I have a wonderful hubby who converted a spare bedroom into a fantastic craft room so I would have a place for all my things. I love you Kerry!)
I couldn't get enough stamping. I stamped with my friends as often as possible. I thought about joining Stampin Up! I thought at some point that was a natural progression for me……then I would get the discount on all the things I bought and get all the news first and get to preorder all the cool new things……
So a little more than a year ago, I joined Stampin Up! It's true, I get a nice 20% discount on all the things I buy (plus a nice commission each month based on my sales). I get the news first – well, with all the other demonstrators – and I get to preorder cool new stuff (like the new things out of the catalog that comes out July 1st). I love this!
Most of all, I love sharing the cool ideas I see, read about, and hear with my friends. When I stamp with someone new and their eyes light up when they see a new technique and a new tool, it is so worth the late night cutting cardstock to get ready. I have made some wonderful new friends and had some great times as we struggled with some cool ideas that seemed much easier in my mind than in club…….like those pop up Christmas trees! Making just one seemed so easy…….making 4 each for 15 ladies took forever!!! When I stamp with my DBFF and we work for hours and laugh and talk, it seems like only a few minutes have passed.
I find that I really love the people more than I love to stamp, and that's a lot!
Being a Stampin Up demonstrator lets me share what I love and hopefully inspire someone else.
Thanks for letting me express how I felt today about stamping and most of all about my stamping buddies!
Check back later today or in the morning for another project with pictures and details.
Thanks for stopping by. Happy Stamping!
