Suzanne Taylor, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 2009 and love it more today than I did when I started! I love sharing the fun of paper crafting with others and seeing their joy as they create something beautiful.

Hostess Club Projects – Wax Paper with a Twist and Dryer Sheet Technique

January 11, 2011 Leave a Comment

On Saturday, we had one hostess club.  We had ten ladies and a lot of fun!

Have you used the Wax Paper Resist Technique?  This is a fun technique, and we put a little twist on it.  We ran the wax paper through an embossing folder with the Vintage Wallpaper Emblossing Folder.  Then we ironed it on the glossy cardstock and brayered Blushing Bride ink over it.  So cool!

Stamp set:  Create a Cupcake

Paper:  Glossy White cardstock, Early Espresso cardstock, Whisper White Cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock

Ink:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride

Cool Tools:  Build a Cupcake punch, Wax paper with a twist technique, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Brayer

Embellishments:  Early Espresso tafetta ribbon

Here's the second card we made in hostess club .

Stamp Set:  For You Flower

Ink:  Garden Green

Paper:  Garden Green, Woodland Walk Designer Paper

Cool Tools:  Framed Tulips Embossing Folder

Embellishments:  Whisper White Organza Ribbon

The Dryer Sheet Technique has been around a while but it's still fun to use.  Stamp your image in bold colors so they will show through the dryer sheet.  Put adhesive on the front of the stamped image.  We ran the images through a Xyron to put the adhesive on the cardstock.  Then use a used dryer sheet – a new one will be too stiff – and put it over the image.  Press it down.  Then for the fun!

Sprinkle Dazzling Diamonds all over the image.  It will go through the dryer sheet and stick to your image.  Use your finger to rub it in so it will stick well.  Trim your image and finish the card.  How fun is this?!

If you are interested in learning new techniques, or learning a new twist on an older technique, email me at suzanne@taylormadestamping.com and join one of our hostess clubs.

Check back for a Sale-a-bration sneak peek.

I hope something you see here inspires you to stamp!  Thanks for stopping by.
