On Thursdays I try to give you something a little more involved or a new technique or something beyond quick and easy on our Facebook Live. I show quick and easy cards on our Facebook Lives on Mondays. This past Thursday, I showed these slimline cards. While they aren’t difficult at all, they are a fun new to me type of card. I hope you enjoyed them.
Do you love the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set? I have used it so many times and it just doesn’t get old.
For this slimline card, I used thick whisper white cut 7-1/2 x 8-3/4 and scored in the middle of the 7-1/2 layer at 3-3/4.
Cinnamon cider layer 3-1/4 x 8-1/4.
Whisper white layer 3 x 8.
On the inside if you want to color with the blends, cut another 3×8 layer to stamp and color on and then attach to the inside.
I stamped the sunflowers in memento black and colored with the blends. I used cinnamon cider, soft suede, mango melody, and old olive. The sentiment is from the same sunflower stamp set.
The second card I made is a cute Halloween card. I’m not a big Halloween person. I don’t turn my light on any more and give out candy. But this stamp set and the designer series paper is so cute that I had to make a card with it.
I started with cinnamon cider cardstock cut 7 x 8-1/2, scored in half at 3-1/2.
Black layer 3-1/4 x 8-1/4 – cut 2, 1 for outside, 1 for inside.
Pumpkin pie 3-1/8 x 8-1/8 – cut 2, 1 for outside, 1 for inside.
Very vanilla 2-7/8 x 7-7/8 – cut 2, 1 for outside, 1 for inside.
Magic in the Night Designer series paper 2-3/4 x 2-7/8 for front and 2 x 2-7/8 for inside.
Adhere the DSP to the very vanilla layer first. Then stamp the spider web image from the Festive Corners stamp set at the top and bottom of the vanilla piece in memento black ink. Adhere the vanilla layer to the pumpkin pie layer and then to the black layer. Wrap the cinnamon cider ribbon around these layers and tie a bow. Then adhere these layers to the front of the cinnamon cider base.
For the inside, adhere the DSP to the vanilla layer. Then stamp the trick or treat sentiment in cinnamon cider and stamp that super cute little spider at the end of the word halloween and at the bottom of the vanilla cardstock just above the DSP. Adhere the vanilla layer to the pumpkin pie layer and then to the black layer and then to the inside of the card.
Now for an envelope. You can mail this is a regular #10 business envelope. You could decorate it and make it really cute. Or, you can make your own envelope. Take an entire piece of cinnamon cider cardstock 8-1/2 x 11. Score on the the short side at 2-1/2 and 6-1/2. Score on the long side at 1-1/2 and 10-1/2. Fold it together, cut out the unneeded corners and you have a really cute perfectly size envelope. Decorate it – stamp on the outside like I did with the spider web.
Do you like these? I’d love to see what you create with these templates.
Remember on Thursdays at 6 pm I am live on Facebook with something beyond quick and easy — or at least different like these slimline cards this week.
If you don’t have a Stampin Up demonstrator, I’d love to earn your business. Message me and let me help you with your stamping needs!
