This past Saturday I went to the Stampin Up! regional event here in Dallas. I learned lots of new things, won lots of exciting things (another blog post this week), and saw some fabulous new things.
Shelli Gardner (CEO of Stampin Up!) joined us. She welcomed all 600 of us and then showed us a couple of birthday cards she was working on. I've got some pictures and wanted to share them with you, too.
This first card is using our notecards. You can buy these in a package from us that has the cards and envelopes. They are slightly smaller than our normal 4-1/4×5-1/2" cards and they are perfect for this project.
Shelli cut a sheet of Summer Starfruit cardstock and ran it through the Vine embossing folder. She cut out flowers with the Floral Fusion die, used the bone folder on them to break down the fibers and then pulled the layers apart. The cardstock is dyed all the way through (unlike so many other papers you might get elsewhere) so you can separate the layers and still have the same great color. The inside has a sort of velvet feel to it. She layered them with the velvet side up on the card and put the smallest flower on the top with the velvet side down. She topped it with a pearl, stamped a sentiment inside and she was done. So cute! Now for the envelope………check it out! She ran it through the big shot so that only one line of the Vine embossing folder printed and then stamped an image from the new Madison Avenue stamp set. So really, really cute!
Why didn't I think about running my envelope thought the big shot………..Hmmmm. This was just the first of several "hmmmm" moments on Saturday.
The Vine embossing folder and the Madison Avenue stamp set are available as free gifts from our sale-a-bration promotion. You get to choose one item from this brochure for every $50 you spend in Stampin Up! stuff.
Here's another card Shelli showed us:
Here are more images stamped from the Madison Avenue stamp set in three different colors – Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, and Soft Suede. These are stamped on a piece of Crumb Cake and placed on top of another one of our notecards.
Here's a FUN FACT: Our new ink pads are moist enough so you can stamp with them and then emboss. After stamping all these images, Shelli sprinkled clear embossing powder on them and heat embossed. She had cards with and without the embossing, and the embossed ones really stood out. She used the same stamp and color combination on the envelope. Remember – no naked envelopes!
Did you learn something new today? I hope so.
I am working on posts showing you lots of swap cards and WOW presentations. Check back later today and hopefully there will be at least one more post today with lots of the cute things from Regional.
Now for another fun announcement………..Hostess club is at my house this Saturday at 10 am. We are going to learn the chalkboard technique. If you want to come check it out and make some pretty cards and have a fabulous time, let me know.
Happy Stamping!
