Suzanne Taylor, Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

I have been a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator since 2009 and love it more today than I did when I started! I love sharing the fun of paper crafting with others and seeing their joy as they create something beautiful.

Celebrate with new core colors

June 13, 2010 Leave a Comment

Celebrate the new core colors with this fun card!  This is a great design to use up all those leftover paper scraps.  We made this card in card class this afternoon.  The colors are Cajun Craze,  Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, and Marina Mist.  I saw this card on Mary Fish's website and had to try it.  We used Early Espresso ink to stamp "Celebrate" and "Your Day."

We cut the cardstock in each of the new core colors in 1" segments and rounded them.  I got a great tip on how to do this from LeeAnn Greff.  Take the 1" strips of cardstock and insert them the 1-1/4" circle punch from the back side.  Slide them just a little ways into the punch and then punch it to create a lovely rounded edge.  If you have difficulty inserting your cardstock in (like I did) put a strip of cardstock into the punch the normal way, then slide your strip in, remove the other cardstock and punch it.  It sounds a little complicated, but it's really not.

The small star inside the red punched star is from Itty Bitty Bits stamped in Early Espresso on Marina Mist cardstock.  I punched it out with the 1/2" circle punch, but it was still a little big to put on the stars, so I trimmed it slightly so it would fit better.

The circle punches on the bottom of each rounded piece of cardstock are made with the 1/2" circle punch.  The yellow star and red star are punched out, the smaller star punch is being discontinued.

Check back tomorrow for another card from our class.  Remember to check the Clearance Rack to see what new things are being added every day.  Some items are discounted 25% and some are discounted evey 50%!

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy Stamping!
